It's easy to make and roll back changes on an optimized route, saving you time and effort. Make last-minute changes before sending routes to a driver, and choose to keep your route order the same or create a new route in seconds.

How to make changes to an optimized route

Starting with the route you want to edit, click on it to expand the stops list.

From here, you can add new stops or edit the address, stop setup, recipient and order information of existing stops.

When you make a change to your route you will see a blue message appear at the top of the sidebar with the text:

Route has unsaved changes - Discard or preview changes to continue

This indicates that the route has now entered editing mode, and you have unsaved changes on your route.

Changed or newly added stops will be indicated in the stops list and highlighted on the map with a pencil icon.

When you have finished making changes to your route, at the bottom of the screen, you will see two options:

  • Discard changes

  • Preview changes

If you are happy with your changes, click Preview changes.

When you click Preview changes, you can pick one of these three options:

  • Reorder changed stops - Reorder only changed stops where possible

  • Reorder all stops - Reorder all stops based on changes

  • Redistribute stops between drivers - redistribute and reorder all stops

If you select the option to Reorder changed stops

Where possible only the changed stops will be reordered, and the driver assigned to the route will remain the same.

If you select the option to Reorder all stops

All stops on the route will be reordered to reflect the changes you have made, and the driver assigned to the route will remain the same.

If you select the option to Redistribute stops between drivers

All stops will be reordered and redistributed to drivers. The drivers originally assigned to the routes will not remain the same.

Select the option that best suits your needs. Click Save changes, and then select Send route to driver.

How to manually swap or reassign routes to drivers

If you have made and saved changes to your routes and then realized that you need to reassign or swap drivers, you can do this without going back into editing mode.

After saving all your changes, click on the route where you want to change the driver.

Click on the driver, and you will see the option to Reassign route or Swap route.

  • Click > Reassign route and select the new driver for that route. This change saves automatically, and you can now click Send routes to drivers.

  • Click > Swap route and select the driver to swap routes with. This change saves automatically, and you can now click Send routes to drivers.

How to discard changes to a route

If at any point you want to delete edits you have made to your route, simply click the Discard changes button.

All changes made since you last clicked Save changes will be discarded. This action cannot be undone.
